First time leadership roles are one of our biggest developmental experiences in life - take time out to explore what leadership means, look at current models of leadership, what kind of leader you are and practise developing the skills you need to be an effective leader.
Who the workshop is for:
This workshop is for first time managers and team leaders who wish to be effective leaders of others.
Course format:
This highly interactive 2 day workshop will require you to:
- Assess your leadership competency through a 360 assessment survey
- Examine your current leadership style
- Examine current leadership theories and how they apply in your context
- Participate in exercises and skill development sessions in small groups
- Develop a personal leadership development plan

- What leadership means
- The difference between leadership and management
- Current leadership theories
- Reviewing your own leadership style
- The difference between constructive, affiliative and other leadership styles and the effectiveness of each
- The competencies and practices of leadership
- Creating your own leadership vision
- The importance of storytelling, symbolism and how to use effectively
- How to motivate and engage others
- Leading by example
- Creating your own leadership development plan
